Ronney Shantouf, MD, is the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Co-Director of the Complex Coronary Program & Invasive Coronary Spasm and Microvascular Dysfunction Program and Staff Physician at the Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Along with performing interventional procedures, he specializes in advanced lipid management and cardiac prevention.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Shantouf was a Health Sciences Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, where he served as the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization lab of Olive View-UCLA Medical Center from 2016 - 2019. He further served as the Cardiology Education Course Chair for the Olive View-UCLA Internal Medicine Residency program.

As an Interventionalist he has performed thousands of cardiac catheterizations throughout his career; and specializes in complex and high-risk coronary procedures including left main interventions, bifurcation PCI, coronary atherectomy (laser, rotablation, orbital atherectomy, lithotripsy), chronic total occlusions, mechanical support device placement, invasive coronary function testing including coronary spasm and microvascular dysfunction assessment, radial coronary interventions, and intravascular imaging(OCT, IVUS).

Dr. Shantouf is American Board certified in Internal Medicine, General Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology. He received his Bachelor of Science degree summa cum laude in Neuroscience and Medical Degree from the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA). He went on to complete his Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at the UCLA Medical Center, General Cardiology Fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at University of Southern California, Los Angeles.

Dr. Shantouf’s clinical interests include the treatment and care of all aspect of coronary artery disease, including lipid management, the impact of diet, lifestyle, and exercise on heart disease, coronary interventions, and post-acute coronary syndrome care. He believes cardiovascular health involves both community-based education along with direct patient care.

When not at work, he enjoys spending his free time with his family, exercising, playing music, and discovering new travel destinations.
